Pick colors and looks for your hair color
If you have red hair there are some colors that are really made for you:
Green, Purple, Maroon, Brown, White and Navy.
Let’s start first from the building blocks, or basic colors that you can create the full outfit from:
A good base to build for red hair is brown, blue or navy and black. You can then easily add tones of colors in other garments.
Brown
Leather colors such as chocolate and tan pair really well.
Navy blue
This is an essential color to have in the wardrobe. It is timeless and always smart.
Black
Black works very well with red hair. If your skin is very fair, do not exaggerate with too much black material.
Now you can add part of the outfits or go all in with one of these colors, perfect for Red Hair:
Green
The complementary color of red is green. Bright green, jade, emerald and olive green will all be flattering with red hair. It is best to avoid yellowy greens and lime colours.
Purple / Maroon
Purples with a blue undertones are fantastic. They are very close to complimentary red so they are very flattering. Maroon works fantastically with blue eyes and fair skin.
White
White will make red hair look even more beautiful and striking. If you fear that it might wash out the skin, all you need is a brighter pop of make up on eyes and lips!
Turquoise and Ultramarine
These punchy colors could work really well, especially when added in small quantities and a triad of colors
You can create a triad of colors by adding 3 different colors to your outfits, which will make your look refined and well balanced. For example:
green, orange and purple
red, blue and green
orange, turquoise and coral
I have purposefully omitted red from the list of the best colors. It really depends on what sort of red it is and the exact tone of your hair and skin. The same goes for bright or light pink which might make you look washed out or clash with the hair color. If your skin is very fair, choose a bright brilliant red to shine!
Red hair is beautiful and striking but the most important thing is to show your attitude and confidence!
